Rural Education and Environment Development Center (REED Nepal) was established in 2000 AD with an aim to improve the quality of education in the community Schools of Nepal. Currently, we are working in 26 districts, across Nepal, to enhance the quality education and environment in right based approaches and protect children/girls from all forms of abuses, sexual exploitation, including trafficking, and so on. REED Nepal is committed to child safeguarding and protection against sexual abuse and harassment (PSEAH). 

REED Nepal, in collaboration with Chemonics International and with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is recently engaged in the implementation of the "USAID Early Grade Learning" initiative across selected districts in Bagmati and Koshi Provinces. Position: Admin and Finance officer (Female Only) 

Location: Central Office, Kathmandu 

Direct reports to: Admin and Finance Manager 

Level -(V)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Review expenditures along with supporting documents.
  • Prepare vouchers and enter in the books of accounts after obtaining proper approvals
  • Prepare periodic Trail balance, bank reconciliation, income and expenditures, budget and expenses report for the project.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports as per the compliance of the project.
  • Get all payment approved and prepare vouchers compiling supporting documents for auditing,
  • Prepare advance request, review travel authorization along with settlement.
  • Comply with local tax laws and donor policies and procedures
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Keep track of Advance payment and clearances. 
  • Facilitate recruitment, procurement, staff movements and employee database maintenance.
  • Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper chart of accounts.
  • Maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Prepare Monthly Bank reconciliations and Quarterly report electronically.
  • Maintain records of inventories and timely verification for fixed assets and consumable inventories and support in preparing physical count, verification of assets.
  • Assist Senior LEU Coordinator/LEU Coordinator in budgeting and cash flow projection,
  • Monitor project site for internal audit, maintenance of proper books of accounts, vehicle log book and fund management by field staffs
  • Perform other duties as instructed by Supervisors
  • Ensure effective and efficient financial management system and coordinate administrative functions field staffs in compliance with REED Nepal’s financial policy, standard and procedure.
  • Establish effective internal control in financial management.
  • Facilitate district team in integrated financial planning, budgeting and monitoring in accordance with financial guideline of REED Nepal. 
  • Ensure standard record keeping and prepare financial reports.
  • Maintain high confidentiality of documents and information and take adequate measures for safety and security of documents, information and other resources.
  • Facilitate administrative functions and provide necessary support to district team for smooth operation.
