The Esther Benjamin Memorial Foundation (EBMF) is a non-governmental social organisation established in 2007 with a vision to enable every child to exercise their rights for their well-being. Since its establishment, the organisation has been rescuing and reintegrating children with their families from various challenging circumstances. EBMF is seeking to recruit competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic Nepali candidate for the following positions:

1) Position: Admin and Finance Officer

Location: Lalitpur

No. Of Position: 1

Contract period: Initially for one year - possibility of extension.

Reports to: Executive Director

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Prepare report and ensure the financial transactions, payments and procurements held as per organization policy and government regulations
  • Collect invoices/bills and make payment ensuring the prevailing financial rules and regulations
  • Compliance of Income Tax Act 2058, Nepal relating to tax issues and withholding of taxes while making payments,
  • Make advance payment of travel allowance, per diem and travel advance,
  • Handle petty cash,
  • Reconcile bank accounts and report to donor organisation
  • To Identify and develop administrative systems and procedures relating to the management of projects, including necessary Admin staffing structure.
  • Receive, verify and ensure that supporting documents are submitted by program staffs while settling advance
  • Get books of accounts audited well in time for submission to Board of Directors for their approval for onward presentation to the General Meeting.

OTHER

  • Providing accounting services to the concerned, especially the status of budget and expenditure on quarterly basis or as and when required,
  • Keeping project staff aware and informed of changes to accounting system/structure/ procedures through training/presentation,
  • Managing for purchase of the supplies, materials, equipment and physical facilities,
  • Visiting project sites as necessary to be familiar with the field activities,
  • Assist the process of financial and project annual audits and;
  • Other responsibilities as directed by EBMF committee.
  • Involve and take responsibility for auditing and organisational renewal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies (BBS) from a recognized university with 5 years’ experience in Admin and Finance preferably in Development Sector.
  • Good communication skills, good command in Excel and in accounting software (preferable in FAMAS) in written and spoken English
  • Able to handle office correspondence independently
  • Able to ride motorcycle with valid driving license.

2) Position: Asst. Admin and Finance Officer

Location: Makwanpur

No. Of Position: 1

Contract period: Initially for one year - possibility of extension.

Reports to: District Programme Manager, Hetauda Office

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Collect invoices/bills and make payment ensuring the prevailing financial rules and regulations
  • Maintain financial documents and records and with approval from District Programme Manager send them to Head office. 
  • Prepare cheque books and maintain ledger. 
  • Compliance of Income Tax Act 2058, Nepal relating to tax issues and withholding of taxes while making payments,
  • Make advance payment of travel allowance, per diem and travel advance,
  • Keep record of staff leave application
  • Handle petty cash,
  • Prepare financial statements

OTHER

  • Managing for purchase of the supplies, materials, equipment and physical facilities,
  • Visiting project sites as necessary to be familiar with the field activities,
  • Other responsibilities as directed by line manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

3) Position: Project Officer-Anti Trafficking

Location: Makwanpur

No. Of Position: 1

Contract period: Initially for one year - possibility of extension.

Reports to: District Programme Manager, Hetauda Office

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:       

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in development studies or social sciences,  
  • Minimum of 3 year's hands on working experience in similar field,  
  • Having sound and practical knowledge in the field of Anti-Trafficking and about its preventive measures, approaches and methodologies, 
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to create a favourable working environment and to get instant support from/in local communities, 
  • Familiar in coordination with District Level Government Departments, Officials, other local level concern agencies and other organisations, 
  • A very good communication and correspondence skills with excellent spoken Nepali and English, 
  • Composure, flexible and having proven problem solving and organisational skills, 
  • Good team worker, able to live in remote areas under basic circumstances in a remote village set up and work closely with a small team, 
  • Ability to plan and organise work effectively and deal with multiple tasks simultaneously, 
  • Should have working knowledge on Microsoft Office Programmes with Nepali typing skills, 
  • Having knowledge on handling cases on trafficking and facilitating the victims, 
  • Passionate helping at risk, victimised, poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable children.  
  • Prepare project visit schedule, supervise the project activities and carry out regular monitoring visits. 
  • Prepare and keep up-to-date database of every case, events, programmes, research and record of every single activity performed.
  • Prepare and update the information of all the direct beneficiaries, stakeholders, working partners, concern departments, officials and other correlated organisations in the area.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and NGOs especially detecting trafficking activities, traffickers and act immediately in order to save the lives of children.
  • To flag up any risk, threaten, delay or challenge in the programme to the line manager in order to ensure measures/action is taken accurately and timely.
  • Develop case studies and success stories for the project area.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports in timely manner. 

Working Hours

The standard working hours are 40 hours per week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, because this is a child-based organization, the post holder may be engaged during out-of-working hours or weekends as per the situation created.
