Community Development and Environment Conservation Forum Nepal (CDECF-Nepal), the leading NGO based in Sindhupalchok district working in the various sectors i.e., Agriculture, WASH, Maternal and child health, Livelihood, Social Mobilization, Conflict Management, Human Right and Community Based Disaster Risk Management, Community Infrastructure for 25 years. Currently, CDECF Nepal is seeking qualified, result oriented and self-motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions under its "Indrawoti Agriculture and livestock entrepreneurship development program for smallholder farmers and youth" supported by Heifer project Nepal. This project has focused its intervention on improving the livelihood of small farmers, youth entrepreneurship and social capital development in Indrawati Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok district.

1. Vacancy No. 1/081/082

1.1. Position: Accountant - No. 1 (Based in Indrawati Central Office, Sindupalchowk District) 

1.2. Qualifications/experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized educational institution in related subjects (Management, Finance, Business Administration and Business Studies).
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in financial reporting, budget formulation and projection, financial monitoring, auditing and accounting system of non-governmental and development partner organizations.
  • Preference will be given to those who can operate accounting software / have experience in FAMAS.
  • Good knowledge of MS-Excel.
  • Good analytical skills of budget
  • Good communication and coordination skills, 
  • Two-wheeler license holder

1.3 Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare payment vouchers for day-to-day transactions for the office, in line with Nepal’s minimum auditing and accounting standard requirements.
  • Maintain the journal ledger, Bank ledger and cash ledger properly in line with Nepal’s minimum auditing and accounting standard requirements.
  • Assure Tax compliances as prescribed rule by the government of Nepal. 
  • Prepare monthly Bank and Cash Reconciliation statement properly and keep the records.
  • Compile and prepare all donor financial reports as required by ensuring that they are accurate and of high quality and meet donor requirements.
  • Submit all donor reports for review and technical sign off to concerned authority of the organization. 
  • Support program team for preparing budget, tracking plan vs. expenditure. 
  • Ensure that financial transactions are processed in accordance with Indrawati local government and heifer project Nepal applicable accounting policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that financial transactions are accompanied by appropriate and relevant supporting documentation dually signed and authorized by relevant budget holder. 
  • Review and check financial supporting documentation for integrity, accuracy and completeness before transaction is approved for payment. 
  • Ensure that financial records, both paper and electronic formats, are up to date, filed in an orderly manner, kept securely, and easily retrievable. 
  • Maintain banking transaction and other activities.
  • Responsible to keep the sound Inventory records of the organization followed by purchase order, requisition and goods receipt etc.
