Mustang Culture and Education Centre (MCEC) is non profitable non-government organization established at Jomsom in 2069 BS. It supports children for their education and preserves indigenous culture in Mustang valley. Modernization of society has resulted degradation of traditional culture of the valley. The wonderful and valuable teachings of Bonism are at high risk. The majority of people cannot speak the native language. The Bonism culture has produced text and meditation practices that contains the most detailed knowledge of the mind and soul. These teaching provides tremendous value to our society by healing people alleviate the ever increasing level of stress and pressure in our daily life.

On this Regards, MCEC has an approved project titled “Construction of Shenten Thagye Ling Bon Monastery Spiritual Campus Project”. The major objective of the project is creating enabling environment for construction of a multipurpose community complex to provide education to children and youths. The multipurpose complex will fulfill the religious need of community people of Mustang district.

  • Carry out the day-to-day accounting functions of the project including, but not limited to:
  • Create project accounts in the accounting system and maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders.
  • Managing cash flow and transfer of expenses, ensuring sufficient amounts are available at all times and that necessary security measures are in place and are being followed
  • Follow up and monitor the budget versus actuals and submit variance report to the President on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Conducting regular cash and bank reconciliations, verifying amounts held and reporting any discrepancies
  • Paying staff salaries and allowances as agreed, ensuring that all required statutory deductions are made and subsequently paid to the appropriate authorities
  • Supporting colleagues in cash handling and financial transactions, providing coaching and guidance as required
  • Reviewing, approving and paying supplier invoices either directly or in conjunction with colleagues and in accordance with agreements made, ensuring that all required tax deductions are made and paid to tax authorities in time.
  • Ensuring all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with the MCEC, governmental guidelines and procedures and any donor requirements
  • Produce accurate accounts/reports within the agreed timeframe in a template provided by MCEC, including the compilation and finalisation of expense sheets for all cash and bank accounts, complying MCEC financial requirements.
  • Gather cash need forecast from Project team and consolidate it in the monthly cash needs forecast for the project, ensuring that money is transferred between locations in a timely manner and that daily cash needs are met
  • Prepare for and support internal and external financial audits, providing all information required by government legislation, donors or other bodies
  • Conduct regular internal audits and report immediately for any possible fraud or theft
  • Take lead on daily administration on hostel project implemented by MCEC.
  • Any other tasks assigned by line Manager
  • BBA/BBS or related field of study from an accredited University in Nepal or other country
  • 2 years working experience in Accounting and Human Resource Depart, preferably in N/INGOs.
