Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Account Officers to join our finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of our manufacturing and trading company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and applicable laws and regulations of Nepal. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, working under the supervision of the Finance Officer.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable:
  • Process and record invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records.
• Accounts Receivable: 
  • Generate and issue invoices to customers.
  • Track customer payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate customer records.
• General Ledger: 
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data.
• Inventory Management: 
  • Assist in inventory cycle counts and reconciliation.
  • Track inventory movements and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Analyze inventory data and identify potential issues.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare and submit required tax filings.
• Other Duties: 
  • Assist with audits and other financial reviews.
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Officer.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
  • Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing and trading environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally).
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with accounting software commonly used in Nepal (e.g., Tally, FACT, Wings).
• Knowledge of Nepal's tax laws and regulations, including VAT, income tax, and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source). 
• Familiarity with Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS).
• Experience with ERP systems relevant to manufacturing and trading businesses in Nepal.
• Prior experience working with government regulatory bodies in Nepal (e.g., Inland Revenue Department). 
• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (or equivalent qualification recognized by Nepal's regulatory bodies). 
• Fluency in Nepali and English (written and spoken).
