DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:

Terms of Reference (TOR)

Position: Academic In-charge

Objective of the post: To give academic leadership of a community school adopted and run by ECC with advance curriculum, ideas and interactive teaching and learning processes.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or any other stream with education courses

Number: 1 (One)

Remuneration: Normal standard

Work hours: Full time

Contract: One year and renewal

Duty station: Dullu municipality, ward no. 10, Dailekh district.

Reporting to: Executive/Managing director

Professional Experience: Better to having work experience with community schools and children in rural Nepal.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Nepali standard curriculum content and teaching learning methodologies grades 1-8.
  • Prefer closer knowledge and experience on teaching and curriculum in grades 4-8.
  • Must be able to understand and support all subjects up to grade 8
  • Excellent in Nepali and English languages both written and spoken
  • Better ideas in academic plans at school level; teacher’s daily lesson and weekly plans
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
  • Better understanding of Nepali's education situation in community/rural schools and better ideas to upgrade it.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize in diverse group.
  • Knowledge on child friendly, in-clusive and quality education
  • Good facilitation skill in training, classroom and group meetings.
  • Proven management and leadership ability
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation etc...
  • Good skills on communication, report writing and documentation ability

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Be a role model in terms of school guidelines and standards
  • Manage teachers from grades Kindergarten to Eight and more
  • Mentor and support teachers both in lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Ensure the implementation of school guidelines and daily schedule properly
  • Help implementing Interactive Teaching and Learning Process (ITLP) in the classrooms.
  • Backstopping to teachers in regular basis
  • Develop short term training plans and content for teachers
  • Conduct few regular classes as per assigned in the daily schedule
  • Conduct demonstration classes for other teachers
  • Able to deliver training sessions for other community school teachers
  • Assist in training and other activities while ITLP experts are in school
  • Prepare event base reports
  • Report to line supervisors on time
  • Organize better documentation of all school records
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the executive line supervisor.
