Biswas Nepal is a non-profitable, non-governmental organization established in 2062 B.S. and legally registered under the laws of Nepal in 2065 B.S. The organization is dedicated to working against violence, injustice, and exploitation in the Entertainment Sector (ES) with a primary focus on commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC). Additionally, Biswas Nepal aims to empower ES workers through advocacy, capacity building, vocational programs, and family reintegration initiatives. The organization collaborates with various stakeholders to eradicate women's labor exploitation in the entertainment sector.
Biswas Nepal has been implementing various projects in coordination and collaboration with different donor agencies and Nepal government. Biswas Nepal will be implementing a project with the support of Tdh (Terre des hommes) Foundation. The goal of the project is to combat child exploitation through child and youth-led initiatives, integrated services and advocacy for gender justices. The project is focused on advancing human rights and labor rights of vulnerable groups engaged in the Entertainment and Hospitality Sector and also aims to contribute to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and plans to improve working conditions in the sector. To implement this project, Biswas Nepal is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions.
1. Position Title: Project coordinator
Duration of project: 18 months

General job description:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management and successful implementation of the Prayatna Project, ensuring alignment with the project’s goals and operational plans. The role involves overseeing the project's progress, ensuring efficient use of project funds, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, coordinating activities, and ensuring that all activities comply with Biswas Nepal’s policies. The coordinator will also lead the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) activities, ensuring that project outputs and outcomes are effectively tracked and assessed.
Main responsibilities:
General
- Lead the development and execution of project work plans. Ensure that all project activities are aligned with project goals and milestones and are implemented within the given timelines. Regularly report on progress, documenting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Oversee the project’s financial management, ensuring that funds are used effectively and in accordance with project objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local governments, Nepal Police, employer associations, CSOs, and other key stakeholders. Facilitate coordination with all project partners to ensure smooth implementation of activities.
- Represent Biswas Nepal in relevant forums, meetings, and conferences, advocating for the project’s objectives and ensuring visibility for Biswas Nepal.
Technical support
- Develop and manage knowledge resources that address the needs of vulnerable groups in the entertainment and hospitality sectors.
- Coordinate and monitor case management activities, ensuring proper documentation, follow-up, and support for beneficiaries in close coordination with the local government and project team.
- Regularly monitor and document project activities, success stories, and challenges. Compile reports to provide updates on the status of project implementation, ensuring data is accurate and comprehensive.
Learning/training
- Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions for local stakeholders, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to implement the project effectively.
- Assist the project team in developing and adapting knowledge and training materials, and other resources relevant to the project requirements.
Security and child safety
- Ensure that all project activities are carried out in line with Biswas Nepal’s safety, security, child safeguarding, gender and fraud prevention policies. Promote and monitor compliance with child protection standards across all project activities.
- Implement and monitor safety and security measures, ensuring that all activities, particularly those involving children and vulnerable groups, adhere to safeguarding policies and standards.
Others:
- Adhere strictly to the norms, values, and guidelines of Biswas Nepal and Child Protection Policies.
- Contribute to the organization’s fundraising efforts, including proposal writing and identifying new funding opportunities.
- Assist with visibility activities, promoting the organization’s work and enhancing its profile.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as delegated by the Executive Director and Biswas Nepal Board.
- Provide input and support in the development, review, and update of organizational policies.
Requirements for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in law, Social Science, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in development and humanitarian contexts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, project partners, and beneficiaries.
- Proven ability to manage, lead, and motivate a team, ensuring that all project activities are completed efficiently.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with data collection and management tools.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple activities, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, identify challenges, and develop practical solutions. Results-oriented and proactive in addressing issues. Having results-oriented and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with M&E frameworks, tools, and methodologies
- Has a strong understanding of issues related to unsafe migration, TIP, GESI and Child protection.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in both Nepali and English
2. Position Title: Social Mobilizer

The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for conducting field visits, coordinating with stakeholders, supporting beneficiaries through case management, and ensuring the effective implementation of project activities. This role requires close collaboration with the project team to create a supportive environment for children and women workers, particularly in the Entertainment and Hospitality Sector. The mobilizer will document field observations, support advocacy initiatives, and maintain accurate records of all project activities.
Main responsibilities:
Field Support and Coordination
- Conduct regular day and night field visits to entertainment and hospitality establishments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Provide field counseling and share information about the project and organization during visits.
- Monitor the situation of vulnerable groups especially girls and LGBTQIA+ individuals in the field and document critical cases.
- Create a friendly and trust-based environment with beneficiaries in both Drop-In Centers (DIC) and field locations.
Case Management
- Fulfill and maintain case management forms, including conducting full assessments with approval from the Project Coordinator.
- Lead and document individual cases, including pretests, post-tests, and case notes for each beneficiary.
- Develop care plans, conduct case conferences, and manage case closures in coordination with the project team.
- Ensure all case data is accurately recorded in both hard and soft copies, aligned with project requirements.
Program Implementation and Support
- Assist the Program Coordinator in preparing Yearly, Quarterly, and Monthly Action Plans (AIPs/POAs).
- Implement activities as per the plan and support the organization of meetings, workshops, and interaction programs.
- Facilitate visitors and donors during project site visits and showcase project achievements.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare event, filed visit, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and submit them to the Project Coordinator.
- Document event reports, case studies, and attendance records as per project requirements.
- Ensure the alignment of hard-copy and e-copy case management records using designated software.
Capacity Building and Learning
- Share acquired knowledge with the team and beneficiaries to strengthen advocacy and outreach support efforts.
Security and child safety
- Ensure that all project activities are carried out in line with Biswas Nepal’s safety, security, child safeguarding, gender and fraud prevention policies.
- Promote and monitor compliance with child protection standards across all project activities.
- Implement and monitor safety and security measures, ensuring that all activities, particularly those involving children and vulnerable groups, adhere to safeguarding policies and standards.
Others
- Adhere strictly to the norms, values, and guidelines of Biswas Nepal and Child Protection Policies.

Requirements for the position
- At least +2 Passed in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field, preferable bachelor degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience of in field mobilization, community engagement, or similar roles in the development sector.
- Experience working with marginalized groups, particularly in the entertainment and hospitality sector or similar vulnerable sectors, is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
- Proficiency in case management processes and record-keeping.
- Has a good understanding of GESI and Child Protection.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Good communication and documentation skills in both Nepali and English.
