Dalit Ethnic Upliftment Center (DEUC), Bara, is a nonprofit and service-oriented social organization initiated by committed local youth from marginalized communities, including Dalit and indigenous peoples. DEUC is announcing a vacancy for “Empowering Marginalized Voices for Accountable Governance” funded by the USAID Civil Society and Media (CSM) Program, with The Asia Foundation as the lead implementer. The project focuses on empowering marginalized communities through various initiatives aimed at promoting Social Justice, Inclusion, and Accountable governance. Eligible candidates are requested to apply for the following positions:

1.     Project Coordinator- 1 (One) (70% Field and 30% Office)

Job Description:

The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for implementing project activities in the field in close coordination and collaboration with local government. S/he will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation. The PC will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the program objectives are met within the given timelines and budget constraints involved in coordinating with team members, managing resources, and monitoring program progress to ensure successful outcomes. S/he tracks activities delivery as per the plan, prepares monthly, quarterly, and final reports, and submits them promptly to the relevant agencies. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with local authorities, community organizations, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Facilitate training and capacity-building workshops for community members and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Develop and implement program strategies in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Monitor program activities, track progress, and address any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Manage program budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and regulations.
  • Evaluate program outcomes and impact, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support to program staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other events related to the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of proven experience in program implementation and management.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Nepali and English. Interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving results.
  • Knowledge of relevant software and tools for project management and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
  • Knowledge of local language.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

2.     Position: Community Mobiliser- 2 (Two) (90% Field and 10% Office)

Job Description:

The Community Mobiliser will play a crucial role in engaging communities, raising awareness about rights and governance, and facilitating community participation in project activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize and organize community members to participate in project activities and training.
  • Conduct awareness-raising sessions on rights, governance, and social inclusion.
  • Foster strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collect feedback and insights from community members to inform project implementation.
  • Document community engagement activities and report on outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate level degree in Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Experience in community mobilization and grassroots organizing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse cultural settings and engage with marginalized groups.
  • Proficiency in Nepali and English.

Priority is given to females, Dalit, Janjati, Madheshi, unreached or marginalized youths, and local members.
