Janahit Gramin Sewa Samittee (JGSS) is a Sindhupalchowk based NGO, registered in 1992, is pioneer in conducting economic development, social mobilization, local governance, poverty reduction, health, and sanitation and hygiene promotion programs in the district. JGSS is committed to improve the livelihood of the rural people especially the poor and the marginalized through self-help and community mobilization.

After the successful implementation of World Vision International Nepal's WASH and Health projects in the selected VDCs of the district, JGSS is implementing next phase of the same. In order to execute the project activities in Jalbire, Phulpingkot, Kubinde, Sanosirubari, Pipaldanda, Haibung and Bhotechaur we are hiring competent staffs for the following projects and positions. 

All positions mentioned below are Time Bound Contract.

WASH Project 

Program Coordinator WASH-1

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The coordinator is responsible for implementing construction of water and sanitation facilities& hygiene promotion activities in the aforementioned program VDCs. Also, he/she facilitates effective and efficient implementation of the Wash Sectoral activities through coordination, programme quality monitoring, technical guidance, capacity development and reporting. Ensuring quality and integrity of implementation, including adherence to technical guidelines, administrative systems, and established deadlines, Evaluating the relevance and appropriateness of current and future programming in relation to water, sanitation and hygiene promotion in the local context, Assisting in the preparation of the WASH proposals, Preparing the activity plan and monitoring and evaluation system for the proposal, Organize procurement documents for needed materials and services
  • Monitor construction / program expenses according to bill of quantity, project budget and World Vision/ JGSS financial procedure.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor in Public Health (BPH) or Bachelor in civil engineering or public health engineering in related subjects with at least two years of experience in similar field, Able to develop clear infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. checklists), and validate the accuracy of the data and the quality of the WASH Infrastructure interventions, Able to monitor expenditures, budgets, and track activity expenses; ensure that appropriate action is taken in a timely fashion,experience in water treatment, sanitation, and/or hygiene promotion, experience in practical on-site construction management, strong working knowledge of written and spoken English, Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner, Ability to translate in English and vice versa. 

Civil Engineer-1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the implementation of the project’s infrastructure related activities, as well as small scale structures for health facilities. He / She actively engages in the field, follows up the implementation, and makes reporting accordingly. Conduct technical assessments and data analysis, is responsible for carrying out all the construction related works,design, drawing, estimate,Provide overall follow up and supervision of the engineering works related to the project, Supervision of all WASH Infrastructure and provide detailed measurement of construction certification reports, Provide technical expertise related to the planned infrastructure works carried out by the project, Monitor expenditures, budgets, and track activity expenses; ensure that appropriate action is taken in a timely fashion, Define the reference standards to be adopted in the planned WASH infrastructure, Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and tender documents, Prepare and launch tender bidding procedure for construction contractor(s), Develop and execute a capacity building plan for World Vision Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene (WASH) staff, Develop technical resources (e.g. strategic framework, standard operating procedures (SOPs), manuals) to guide World Vision’s WASH Infrastructure interventions, drawing from international best practices, along with field specific observations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor in Civil engineering with at least 2 to 3 years of experience, in an infrastructure project (tender procedure, design, planning, implementation, budgeting, reporting, evaluation and monitoring), Able to use AutoCad, MS office program, sound knowledge in Drinking water supply scheme design programs, Monitoring and Reporting in English

Accountants-few

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, documents and support in administrative tasks in Chautara Office. He/She oversees the timely release of payments, update its status, makes budget forecasts, ensures well recorded transactions, prepares monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual financial reports as and when required. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors' degree in accounting or relevant subjects with two years of experience in similar capacity. Experience of handling finance of NGO is desirable.

Civil Overseer-1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Overseer is responsible for supporting the construction of Water and Sanitation facilities, and small constructions for health facilities. Also, the candidate engages with the activities in the field, makes necessary follow ups, construction supervision, detail measurement of construction works, drafting by using AutoCad, preparation of estimate of construction works & Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and reporting accordingly. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering with two years of experience, Able to use AutoCad, MS office program. Preference will be given to the candidate belonging to the program VDCs. 

Social Mobilizer (Sub-overseer)-2 (Jalbire/Haibung)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Social Mobilizer (sub-overseer)engages actively in the field level activities. He/She also makes regular follow up of activities, collects necessary data, and makes reporting accordingly & involved in Social mobilization activities, Prepare field plan under WASH, implementation, preparation of report and submission to program coordinator , Prepare monthly report along with other supportive documents under WASH project, Coordination and bridging the information in VDCs, district office and related to WASH , Coordination and collaboration with local stakeholders such as VDC  office, health post, sub health post, VWASHCC, community school, Community forest, users committee, local organizations, clubs, mother group, child club for effective implementation of WASH projects. 
  • Support to facilitate the training and other managerial and preparatory work 
  • Advocacy and lobby on WASH program
  • Plan and organize meeting as per the need of the VDCs and stakeholders. 
  • Collect and compile the information related with WASH 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Sub overseer (Technical SLC) in civil engineering or equivalent with two years of experience. Also, the locals will be given priority. 

Health Project 

Health Officer-1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Health Officer is responsible for carrying out all the health activities of Women and Young Children Spaces (WaYCS), Maternal and Neonatal Child Health, as well as social mobilization.  

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in health (BPH) with sound knowledge on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition in Emergencies. At least one years of experience in the related field.  

MEAL Officer-1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The MEAL Officer is responsible of carrying out monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities. He/She regularly collects program data from the field, gathers case studies and best practices, documents them, and writes reports accordingly.  

REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor in Social Works or graduate in social science with good command over English, Nepali and writing in both the languages.   

Social Mobilizers-3

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The social mobilizers are responsible for actively engaging with the local people, assure the implementation of project activities, collect relevant program data, and make reporting to the officers accordingly. Also, they conduct regular social mobilization activities in the program locations. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Female candidate with ANM/CMA/AHW with two years of experience. The candidates from Pipaldanda, Haibung and Bhotechaur will be given priority.
